In this course, I gathered everything needed for an excellent preparation to get the International ISO17100 certificate. After a general introduction, I will start with the important lesson about the different standards in the translation industry, and we will go briefly through the general management system requirements according to ISO 9001 for a quality management system, the Standard ISO 18587 for machine translation, and the Standard ISO 11316 for community interpretation services. A list of all industry Standards you can find

here: https://translationstandards.net/

Afterward, in the Quality Manuel, you will find all the chapters that should be prepared for the official certification audit. I present it in a simple format to be ready for immediate use. You should only add your data, and you will be finished with the essential document requested in the documentation structure for the audit. We all know that this step is the hardest and the biggest challenge for most of you in the preparation process. But now, simply, it is ready for immediate use.

You will find the chapters about the ISO 17100 requirements in detail at this stage. This part is introduced again in a simple way but very clear and to the point to get back to the original scripts anytime as a reference for a better understanding and accurate fulfillment of the requirements. The used English terms here are according to international standards. As the international language of the standards is English, you will find a big part of the course content written in English. We’ve translated some parts into Arabic to understand better what we saw as necessary.

Then we will show a simple brief about the different international standards in the translation& localization industry to allow you to get a quick picture of the essential aspects.

Now, after introducing the most important international standards of the industry, I will show a complete introduction to ISO 171000 that will cover the three phases of the standard covering the pre-production phase, the production, and finally, the post-production phase. Furthermore, we introduce human and technical resources. Then it comes to the detailed auditing checklist so you can do a personal evaluation, and according to it, you will know the strengths and weaknesses of your system.

I made sure to formulate the questions precisely as the international Lead Auditor does for your excellent practical preparation.

After that, we will present some administration matters in the evaluation process to discuss all the essential details to eliminate any unexpected problems. We present some sample forms, like the application form for the international certificate and the final report structure, that’s considered one of the job secrets. Still, now we give it to you to do the proper preparation, then you will find information about the certification scheme and how to deal with the different steps.

Afterward, we will start the lessons that cover everything related to the certification process,

beginning with the theoretical understanding to the practical part to use it in your daily business.

I also will deliver:

  • Practical recommendations to market yourself and your service to win international organizations and clients
  • Helpful suggestions about how to obtain professional knowledge in managing translation projects
  • Finally, the gift of the session: Valuable practical instructions and recommendations on how to use a simple “Translation Management System” as a freelancer.

I hope I have given you valuable lessons and wish you all the best on the way to obtaining the valuable

ISO 171000 certificate.

Sincerely

Dr. Mohamed Ali Ibrahim
